Meet The Team…

Savannah Henderson, LPCC

When I first became a therapist, I thought I wanted to work in early childhood mental health. I was interested in play therapy and helping children process emotions and build healthy relationships with their caregivers. My educational background in education, child development, and clinical counseling helped me gain an understanding of attachment theory and how attachment with our early caregivers impacts us throughout our lifespan. I became passionate about helping others understand how our early models of emotional regulation and conflict management stem from our parents and caregivers, and how we carry intergenerational patterns, perspectives, and trauma into the present. I made a pivot into working with adults, both individually and couples.

My attachment lens is still very present in my work. I utilize emotion-focused therapy, a form of talk therapy that draws from attachment theory and helps you understand and recognize negative emotional processing and reactions that cause distress in your life and your relationships. Emotion-focused therapy centers the experiences of you, the client, and is designed to help you build safe, secure connection with others. If this sounds like something you would benefit from, I may be the right therapist for you.

My Therapy Frameworks:

I view therapy through an attachment-based lens, recognizing that our earliest relationships can shape how we understand ourselves, connect with others, and respond when we feel hurt, rejected, or unsafe.

Attachment Based

I believe our emotions are meaningful signals that can help us understand what we need and what matters most to us. Rather than viewing difficult emotions as something to get rid of, we can slow down and become curious about what they are trying to communicate.

Emotion Focused

I see healing as something that happens within relationships, including the therapeutic relationship itself. Therapy provides a space to explore how you show up with others, the ways you may protect yourself or lose connection with your own needs, and the patterns that keep you feeling stuck.

Relational Centered

Relationship Intensives

The best time to come to therapy is before you need it. Our relationship intensives are designed for couples and partners who want to invest in their relationship proactively — whether you're strengthening a relationship that's already working, or navigating a transition like moving in together, deepening commitment, or another major life change. Rather than the slower pace of weekly sessions, intensives offer concentrated, focused time to do meaningful work together in a shorter window. Each intensive is structured to include a relationship assessment, practices to deepen your understanding of each other, intentional conversations about the future, and practical skills to support long-term commitment. Intensives can be tailored to you and your partner(s) needs and schedule.
